A Soccer Player She Isn't

Giana has been begging us for months to sign her up for soccer. We decided to enroll her in a soccer camp. The camp was one week long and lasted 1.5 hours per day. I stayed each day and watched the camp because the weather was so nice and the baby enjoyed being pushed in his stroller around the walking path near the field. OK, I'll be honest, I just didn't know these people and I'm a little particular about who I leave my kids with so I stayed to spy and make sure she was OK. (My kids have never been left with a babysitter...only family and close friends. Giana is almost 5 years old.) A little protective but that's just how I roll.

Throughout the week, I noticed that Giana would often sit on the sidelines and never wore an orange jersey during scrimmages. At the end of the week, she received a "score card" with the coaches comments. "Giana would not participate with fun practice games and refused to wear the jersey during scrimmages." That answered my question about the jersey. So I asked her about it and she told me (and I quote) "Mommy, orange is just not a good color for me so I couldn't wear the jersey." Well, OK then. She no longer wants to play soccer. At least not this week.
