Nickelodeon Storytime Live

Yesterday, my friend Erin and I took our kids to see Storytime Live. It was a fun day and the kids loved seeing their favorite cartoon characters. Nai Hao Kai Lan opened up followed by the Backyardigans then the Wonder Pets and finally Dora. It was a great day in the life of a toddler and pre schooler! Giana is still talking about all the fun. Dominic didn't even have his coat off from work last night and she was telling him all about the show...character by character...scene by scene. He's armed with enough cartoon information to last him a lifetime.

BRRRRRR....

I just had to post this picture. It makes me laugh. My sister and I took our kids swimming at my Mom's indoor neighborhood pool. There was over a foot of snow outside and it was so cold. I love the huge icicle hanging behind them!

Surprise Mom...Happy Birthday!

My sisters and I threw a surprise 70th birthday party for my mom on February 13th. She had no idea! We celebrated with 25 of her closest family and friends. It was at Dominic's hotel and they did a great job. I guess I should say that Dominic and his staff threw a birthday party because all we had to do was show up. Mom, happy birthday! I hope you enjoyed your party. I love you!

Happy 1st Birthday, Dorothy!

One year ago, we bought Giana a goldfish for Valentine’s Day. Who would have thought that one year later, we would still have the same fish? Dorothy is thriving and doing well! It’s funny how she really has become part of the family. Giana loves her pet fish…the only pet she’ll ever have since Dominic is allergic to cats and we both don’t care for dogs. Here’s hoping for another year.

Baby Makes Two...

I’m pregnant! We couldn't be happier! Well, maybe I could be happier if I wasn’t so sick and tired. These last few months have been REALLY hard on me. I don’t remember feeling this way with Giana, but Dominic insists that I did. He keeps telling me that I’ve forgotten a lot about being pregnant; having a new born, not getting any sleep. Maybe that’s God’s way of ensuring that couples will have more than one child. I’m not a good pregnant person. It’s uncomfortable, exhausting, hard, etc… With all of that being said, the end result is so worth it and we are thrilled! It was nice to surprise our families at Christmas time. Giana is accepting it well and insists that “her baby” is a girl. If you even try to mention that it could be a boy, you are corrected. In her three year old mind, she’s thinking she’ll have an instant playmate. Baby is due in early August. We’ll find out in late March the sex of the baby but we won’t share any names until he/she is born! So don’t ask!

Baby at 8 1/2 weeks

Baby at 12 weeks. I wouldn't normally have had an ultra sound at 12 weeks but during my doctor visit, they couldn't get the baby's heart beat. There are no words for that. I felt sick. I immediately went for another ultra sound and the baby is fine. Thank God! Just look at how much bigger the baby is in just those 4 weeks. So cool!

And Time Stood Still...

Sometimes, I wish I could freeze time. It goes by so quickly. Especially when you are watching your children grow up. While I’m pretty good at capturing all the special moments on video or camera, there are just things you are going to miss. I hate it because I want to remember it all but I just can’t. The other night, I laid down with Giana when putting her to bed. She likes to hold hands and I can’t tell her no. It’s just so sweet. So I stay, wait and watch until she falls asleep. She grabbed my hand just before her eyes closed. Right then and there, all was good. With her, with me, the world was just right.

Show Day at Little Gym

The last class of every session is “Show Day.” Giana was able to show off her new skills to the entire family…and I mean the entire family. Dominic came from work, all the grandparents were there and Aunt Deanna took the day off from work. I think Giana had the most support. She did great, received her medal and has moved on to the next class. Oh so proud!
